Tanger Alliance, a subsidiary of Marsa Maroc, Contship Italia, Eurogate International and Hapag-Llyod, received on January 1st, 2021 its first container vessel, thus marking the commercial commissioning of Container Terminal 3 of the Port of Tanger Med 2 (TC3) after 18 months of construction for an investment of nearly 175 MEUR. This commissioning concerns a large part of the Terminal, the commissioning of the whole being scheduled for no later than June 2021.


In accordance with the concession agreement signed with Tanger Med 2 (TM2), Tanger Alliance is in charge of the construction of superstructures and equipment, the recruitment of human resources and the establishment of all means necessary for the proper operation of the TC3 .


The Terminal is established on an area of 36,000m2 and has a quay length of 800m with a water depth of 18m. In terms of equipment, the Terminal has 8 ship-to-shore cranes (STS), enabling it to handle the world’s largest container ships, with a container storage yard equipped with 22 rubber tyred gantry cranes (RTG). Upon full commissioning, the Terminal will have a capacity to handle 1.5 million TEUs.
